Views in Phnom Penh before the ASEAN Summit

Phnom Penh: The view in Phnom Penh is beautiful, adorned with flowers, beautiful green trees accompanied by flags along both sides of the road. This is the view of Phnom Penh to welcome international guests who come to attend the ASEAN Summit on November 8.

The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration has prepared many infrastructures, decorated with colorful flowers, scattered garbage bins, cleaned up the environment in public places, and tied the flags of Cambodia and other countries in front of the Peace Palace on the streets and in public places.

On the main streets of Phnom Penh, where national and international delegations travel to attend the ASEAN Summit, more than 10,000 front-line joint forces have been deployed to patrol and provide security, order and safety to the delegates.

In addition, in front of Wat Phnom Heart of Phnom Penh Capital, there is also the design of the ASEAN Gate 2022, and on some streets there is also the installation of ASEAN billboards.

In the garden in front of the Peace Palace, where bilateral meetings with leaders of some countries during the ASEAN Summit were held, were adorned with colorful flowers and beautiful trees. At the fence of the Peace Palace there are also flags of all countries.

On some streets, such as Mao Tse Tung Street, in front of people's houses, the streets on both sides were decorated with many Cambodian flags. One house has a Cambodian flag. At the same time, the courtyard in front of people's houses is also well cleaned.

As Cambodia celebrates the Royal Water Festival, on the morning of November 7, along the road in front of the Royal Palace, some people came to sit and enjoy the fresh air and take photos on the banks of the Chaktomuk River with some business people selling cakes, food.

At the same time, on the surface of the Chaktomuk River, there are also forces ready with sufficient means and materials to launch security operations to strengthen security and maintain order on the water surface.

Infrastructure has also been strengthened, with new rubber paving and traffic markings on some sections of the road being cleaned and some chicken coop roads being repaired to prepare for the delegation to attend the ASEAN Summit.

As chair of ASEAN in 2022, Cambodia is wise to welcome delegations from friendly Countries and ASEAN countries warmly and safely.

Some roads will be closed during high-level national and international delegations passing through the ASEAN Summit.

Closed roads such as St. 214, St. 51, St. 294, Neak Banh Tuek, Preah Sisowath Quay, St. 178, Norodom Blvd, Samdech Sothearos Blvd, Samdech Preah Sangkhareach Roundabout and Tonle Sap Street 178.

In order to avoid congestion for vehicles entering Phnom Penh on the Boulevard of the Russian Federation, traffic must be diverted at the Chom Chao flyover towards Chom Chao Boulevard. Vehicles traveling in and out of Norodom Boulevard must divert traffic on Street 63 and Sisowath Quay.

Vehicles traveling in and out of Monivong Blvd must divert traffic at the intersection of the head of the road towards the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Blvd. (St. 271) and at the Kouch Kanong roundabout, turn to Oknha Khleang Moeung (St. 70).

Vehicles entering Phnom Penh on National Road 6 must divert traffic on Win-Win Boulevard. In the case of vehicles in the Chroy Changvar area, traffic must be diverted around the Neang Tep Mermaid roundabout, crossing the Bele Bridge into Phnom Penh.

Meanwhile, vehicles traveling on Oknha Khleang Moeung Street (Street 70) in the direction of Kouch Kanong roundabout must be diverted into City Center Blvd (Street 169, Boeung Kak Lake area) and Phsar Samhan Concrete Road to Street 598.

Cambodia will host the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Meetings 2022 at the Sokha Residence Hotel in Phnom Penh from November 8-13, 2022. As the summit will be handed over by the Prime Minister of Cambodia to the President of ASEAN to the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo in 2023.
